Almost every second German feels restricted in their freedom and less mobile after the birth of their first baby. This is the result of a survey* commissioned by Bübchen. Bübchen investigated how the world of new parents is changing, what concerns they have, and why wet wipes with 99 percent pure water mean one less thing to worry about and offers helpful tips.
The baby is here! And your whole world is turned upside down – many things are no longer the same as before. Especially in the first few months after birth, parents are often not as spontaneous as before. The baby is helpless and needs a lot of attention. Simply exercising, shopping, or meeting up with friends is almost impossible. And when you finally do head out with your baby, you have to think about a lot of things to avoid any nasty surprises.
FOR ALMOST HALF OF THE RESPONDENTS, THEIR SENSE OF FREEDOM HAS CHANGED WITH A BABY
According to a Bübchen survey, almost a quarter of respondents find it difficult to go out with a baby in the first few months after birth because it requires more effort. Over 40 percent of study participants stated that everything changed for them with their first baby. They felt severely restricted in their freedom and were no longer as mobile as they had been before. Even short trips or vacations are no longer as easy: For one in three respondents, they even represent more stress than joy with a baby.
ALL A QUESTION OF ROUTINE
But even if everything seems new and different at first with a baby, parents gradually become more routine, more spontaneous, and thus more willing to go on outings. Suddenly, getting ready takes just a few minutes: a change of clothes, diapers, pacifiers, a milk bottle, and wet wipes are quickly packed. Wet wipes, in particular, are a must-have for quickly cleaning the baby's bottom, mouth, and hands on the go. That's why every second respondent finds wet wipes incredibly practical, but at the same time feels uneasy about them because they're worried they contain too many additives.
