Bübchen continues to grow in 2025!
The newly founded body care brand Shirin Beauty, launched in early 2025, is sure to make beauty lovers' hearts beat faster. The care products—inspired by Shirin David's personal 4-step routine and featuring “Made in Germany” quality — combine effective ingredients with a special fragrance experience. The new brand is aimed at a young target group with high standards in terms of care and packaging design.
Bübchen grows!
Since April 2024, the Barnängen brand has expanded the Bübchen body care range. Barnängen, founded in Stockholm in 1868, is characterised by Scandinavian-inspired formulas and the iconic ingredient Cold Cream, which prevents skin from drying out even in harsh weather and heated air.

Italian care expertise in the Bübchen portfolio: Bübchen Bodycare GmbH acquires the natural cosmetics brand N.A.E. Naturale Antica Erboristeria from Henkel. N.A.E. combines Italian beauty secrets in Ecocert COSMOS Organic certified products for face, body and hair.

Bübchen Bodycare GmbH takes over the entire Henkel Oral Care business, including all brand rights. The brands Theramed, Vademecum, Antica Erboristeria, Licor del Polo und Denivit bring fresh breath and a radiant smile to the Bübchen portfolio.
We celebrate 60 years Bübchen!
Katjes International takes over Bübchen and brings a breath of fresh air to the traditional company.
The kids' products are given their characteristic packaging. The upside-down bottles with a waist fit better in the hand and are much easier to grip in the shower thanks to their dimpled surface.
Bübchen doesn't always have to be blue. The Princess Rosalea products are enchanting in pink and with the scent of peony.
Around 40 million individual packs leave the factory every year. And it's not just in Germany that Bübchen is trusted: even in China, Korea and Vietnam, the products are appreciated by many mothers.
With “Shampoo & Shower Apricot,” Bübchen is launching a new care range especially for children. It combines valuable ingredients with fruity, fresh fragrances and cheerful colors. As with all products, parents can be sure that their children's skin and hair are gently cared for in a natural way.
Bübchen is acquired by Nestlé Deutschland AG. The Bübchen principle remains unchanged: only what is best for babies' delicate skin leaves the factory.
In the 60s and 70s, Bübchen becomes increasingly popular. Many new products are gradually added to the range. Bübchen is recommended by midwives and paediatricians throughout Germany.
The demand for Bübchen care products is so great that the company has to set up its own production facility. The company ‘Bübchen-Werk Ewald Hermes Pharmazeutische Fabrik GmbH’ is founded in Soest.
In the mid-1950s, Ewald Hermes began producing care products using formulas he developed himself as a chemist, because he always wanted the best for his son. Bübchen children's soap was the first product in this category.
Young Ewald Hermes has recently become a father. Like many babies, his little son suffers from flatulence. As a chemist, he understands the healing powers of nature and mixes a calming tea for his ‘little Bübchen’ using fennel, aniseed, coriander, caraway and liquorice. And it works. So well, in fact, that he also sells the mixture in his chemist's shop and more and more mums are asking for the soothing tea. This is how Bübchen becomes known beyond the city limits.
