Climate protection refers to all measures and activities aimed at slowing or preventing climate change. This includes strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote renewable energy, improve energy efficiency, etc.
Climate protection is crucial to limit the negative impacts of climate change and ensure a sustainable future for the environment and future generations.
How do we at Bübchen support the environment?
Environmental protection encompasses much more than just reducing CO₂ emissions; rather, it consists of a multitude of different measures that together can make a significant contribution to protecting our beautiful world. This is how we are committed:

This is what happens at our plant in Soest
100% green electricity
In our production facility, we use exclusively 100% green electricity, which comes from a mix of renewable energies. This sustainable energy source not only avoids CO₂ emissions but also generates zero radioactive waste during the entire production process.
Reduction of gas consumption
In 2023, we took a significant step toward energy efficiency by reducing our gas consumption by 300,000 kW. We achieved this, among other things, by using the waste heat from our heating systems to heat the rooms.
Invest to reduce CO₂
We have invested in replacing all lamps in our production facility with 100% energy-saving LED bulbs. This will result in a savings of 17.14 tons of CO₂ per year – equivalent to 70 flights from Munich to Berlin.
Recycling is a must
Here in Soest, we consistently separate everything that can be separated. This allows us to achieve an impressive separate collection rate of over 80%.
HOW WE OPTIMIZE OUR PACKAGING
Our goal: Products made from recycled plastic
Our Bübchen products are bottled exclusively from 100% recycled plastic. However, our ambition goes beyond this: we are also working to use labels and caps made from 100% recycled material.
Packaging is being further developed
In 2024, we will take an important step in our production: our bubble bath sachets will be made from 100% recyclable monomaterial. This change not only simplifies disposal after use at home but also contributes to protecting our environment.
Minimize product waste
We continuously optimize our processes and have managed to reduce our product waste during production by 45%. Product waste is treated using a wastewater treatment plant and then thermally disposed of. This has significantly reduced the collection cycle for residual product waste.
Recycled material for outer packaging
Of course, we also take responsibility for the outer packaging and palletizing. Therefore, we have switched the film used to wrap the finished pallets from conventional wrapping film to one containing 30% recycled material, and we even use 100% recycled film for the cover film. This way, we ensure that our products reach their destination not only safely but also in an environmentally friendly manner.
